When I visited the entrance area of the Yale Center for British Art(YCBA), located on the intersection of Chapel and York Streets, I noticed that very few people cross through it. When we try to find some access for entering a space regardless of whether it is physical or virtual space, if the entrance is not easily visible or protected by its structural characteristics, people feel disconnected to the space.

Consequently, people are disinclined from entering because of such physical interface. This space is an example of ‘junk space’ first mentioned by Rem Koolhaas in his essay ‘Junk Space’. There are lots of such similar spaces in contemporary society.
